The 2024 Christmas Quiz is tomorrow (19 December) at Our Lady’s Social Club on Flint Street, Shaw Heath. There is limited on-street |

parking outside the club, so you may need to use the car park at the top of Mercian Way. You are strongly advised not to use the car park in |
|
front of Our Lady and the Apostles church, as it may be locked either before or during the quiz. Once again Greg Spiller has kindly offered to |
|
present the quiz, which will start at 8.30 p.m. As usual it would be good to see as many teams as possible in attendance and please |
|
remember to bring a raffle prize. As agreed at this year's AGM, a charity will be chosen at the Christmas Quiz to receive all our donations for |
|
the season. This will be something of a formality, as we have received just one nomination. This year’s chosen charity will be SPARC. |
|
Based on Adswood Lane East in Shaw Heath, SPARC (Stockport Progress and Recovery Centre) supports local people with mental health |
|
problems, many of whom have also suffered severe trauma. The charity celebrates its 40th anniversary this year and since 2021 has been |
|
the only local charity to offer a designated support group/service for young adults (aged 18-30), including a counselling and therapy service. |
